As COVID-19 continues to be top of mind for many in the U.S. and worldwide, we’d like to share the measures that California Transplant Services, Inc. is taking to ensure the health and well-being of our patients, families, partners, and staff.
Even in these uncertain times, our commitment to the mission of changing lives is first and foremost. California Transplant Services, Inc. will continue to serve others by connecting them to the gifts of donation and transplantation.
The COVID-19 situation is changing rapidly, and like many other organizations, California Transplant Services, Inc. is closely following all developments and staying abreast of updates from the health organizations responsible for tracking and responding to the virus. We understand the concern and uncertainty the people we serve are experiencing and are committed to being responsive to their needs as the situation evolves.
California Transplant Services, Inc. performs an essential healthcare function due to our mission and its life-saving impact. It is imperative we continue to make necessary adjustments to continue operations, even in the face of current mandates.
Our day-to-day operations have not stopped. Our clinical teams and hospital partners are working tirelessly every day to deliver the gift of life to those in need. California Transplant Services, Inc. has and always will adhere to the highest medical standards and will adapt as necessary to any issues posed by COVID-19 and still carry out our mission.
We will continue to follow our local hospitals’ infection prevention guidelines, which address COVID-19. We are also following guidelines and recommendations from the CDC, local public health agencies and the transplantation community.
We continue to work closely with the transplant community to share the best clinical information and guidance available regarding care of transplant candidates and recipients, and screening of potential organ donors at risk of COVID-19.
As the COVID-19 virus continues to grow as a public health concern, we want to ensure that we do our part to limit the spread of the virus and keep you safe. As such, we are canceling all in-person programs, projects, and events until we can be assured by the CDC, local public health agencies and the transplantation community they are safe to resume.
We are taking the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our staff and patients who will receive the gift of life. This includes screening all transplant donors for potential and diagnosed COVID-19 cases.
While our business operations continue, California Transplant Services, Inc. and its partners have canceled or postponed all community events. Although difficult, this decision was made to limit the exposure of our donor families, recipients, our team, and the community-at-large to the risk of coronavirus.
Finally, we’ve taken additional measures to protect our California Transplant Services, Inc. team, including suspending non-essential travel and arranging for our staff to work from home, wherever possible. Our offices now prohibit vendors and public entrance. Our cleaning and sanitation frequencies have increased. Staff are not allowed to enter the building with a fever, cough or any illness.
The safety of our team is a top priority, and we will continue to evaluate our response and make decisions in the best interest of all as the situation evolves.
